Overcoming Barriers: Understanding and Addressing Impediments to Electric Vehicle Adoption in India
The transition to electric vehicles (EVs) in India is essential for addressing environmental concerns and reducing dependence on fossil fuels. However, numerous barriers impede the widespread adoption of EVs in the country. The paper aims to highlight factors that influence electric vehicle adoption, including lack of charging infrastructure, consumer anxieties, and OEM related constraints. Through a comprehensive examination of these impediments, the paper proposes strategies to overcome them and accelerate EV adoption. These strategies encompass policy interventions, infrastructure development, and awareness campaigns. By understanding and addressing these challenges, India can pave the way for a more sustainable and eco-friendly transportation ecosystem, thereby contributing to the global efforts to combat climate change and promote clean energy adoption.
