Smart Card Based EV Parking System using DC Charging
In current times, the concept of smart cities have gained much popularity. Consistent efforts are being made to maximize the productivity and reliability of urban infrastructures. Cost of parking is high in majority of the cities in India. Due to increase in number of Electric Vehicles(EVs) rapidly hitting the market, an efficient parking and charging facility for them is very necessary in the present day. World’s security system improvement is based on the parking lots which is critical to monitor and manage the access of government and private sector vehicles. So, with the help of smart card or a tag vehicle admission into parking areas can be controlled with blocking of unauthorized vehicles. In the proposed system a smart card is used which when tapped on the reader verifies the authorization of the entry of car. Once authorized entry is made, it also tells the user balance amount. And in this system a framework is provided for charging facility and mainly DC charging which is the fastest mode of charging a vehicle. A prototype of the model was developed with basic features of the authorized entry of vehicle and DC charging is provided with parking facility.
