Proactive Electric Vehicle Braking System

Electric vehicles are required to design safety mechanisms for dealing with electrical conflicts that may affect the braking system. This paper represents the description of a new Brake System Plausibility Device (BSPD) developed for electric vehicle safety by monitoring throttle and brake signals. BSPD cuts power supplies in case of persisting conflicting signals for as low as 500 milliseconds and offers quick fault detection and response. Additionally, the system automatically rechecks after 10 seconds to restore power if the fault condition clears. The described circuit was successfully tested on a breadboard and showed its great potential in reducing risks related to electrical faults. This design provides a basis for scalable solutions to enhance EV safety, aligning with developments in autonomous driving technologies.
