Phishing Detection Using Machine Learning Technique
In the modern world, the computer and Internet have become an entangled part of everyone’s life. The Internet is a connection of interconnected computers that can share resources, data and information all around the globe. Communication between larger distances, especially, people of different cultural background is possible with the introduction of Computer and Internet, which has helped in the economic progress of various nations. However, there are pros and cons to the Internet. While Internet is a hub of worldwide communication, one of its cons is Phishing. Phishing is an unethical and illegal activity where an attacker impersonates a real website and sends a lookalike website to people connected through Internet. Using this fake interface, private information such as Name, Address, Phone, Bank details, etc. are stolen, with the intention of stealing information for financial and other purposes. This paper presents an evaluation of varying machine learning approaches for detecting phishing.
