Reliability and Cost Consideration in the Design of the Electric Vehicle Charging Station's Intermediately Facilitated Ports
Manufacturing companies are prioritizing customer charging infrastructure as Electric Vehicles (EVs) attain a higher level of popularity. In small EV charging situations, charging port reliability is difficult to ensure, even while charging station companies follow distribution system standards. In order to enhance the reliability of the charging station for the distribution system, the implementation of 24-ported configurations has been suggested, and systems have been developed with the individual batch structure. The reliability of the suggested identical and non-identical port designs has been evaluated by analyzing the failure rate of each individual port in a batch. The failure rate of the proposed configuration with 24 ports has been assessed according to the MILHBK-217F book requirements. The evaluation process has been implemented to determine the success rate of the charging station based on the failure rate of the port. The maintenance cost has been calculated using the failure and success rate of the proposed 24-port system. Ultimately, the evaluation of the suggested 24-port setups has been conducted to determine their failure rate, success rate, and maintenance cost. This study utilizes the binomial distribution probability technique to accurately estimate the failure rate of the charging station. The proposed 24-port layouts, whether identical or non-identical, are capable of ensuring reliable operation and may be implemented in the limited space available for the installation of EV charging stations.
