Implementing Telemedicine Video Platform with Google Cloud Infrastructure

With the increasing demand for remote communication and virtual collaboration, videoconferencing systems have become integral to both professional and personal interactions. This paper explores the deployment of Jitsi-meet, an open-source videoconferencing solution on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to leverage cloud infrastructure for enhanced scalability, reliability and accessibility for telemedicine and digital health. The paper details the architecture of the system, including the setup of Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) for network isolation, firewall rules for secure traffic management and load balancing strategies to distribute user load efficiently. The system is configured with a static public IP address and a custom domain to provide a seamless user experience. The deployment demonstrates the advantages of leveraging cloud infrastructure to meet the demands of modern videoconferencing needs, including scalability to handle varying loads, reliability for uninterrupted service and security to protect sensitive communication. Future work involves exploring advanced features, optimizing performance and expanding deployment to support larger or more geographically dispersed user bases. This comprehensive approach highlights the potential of cloud-based solutions in enhancing videoconferencing capabilities, making it a viable option for organizations and individuals seeking robust and scalable communication tools for telemedicine.
