Segmentation-Time Sharing Control Strategy for Battery Double-Layer Equalization Circuit
In this study, a segmented-time-sharing equalization control approach is provided to handle the issue of the top and bottom equalizers opening and shutting sequences in the Li-ion battery double layer equalization circuit under the situation of poor cell inconsistency inside bottom cells. The workflow of the double layer equalization circuit is divided into five segments by judging whether the range difference between the individual cells inside the battery pack and the average difference between the battery packs are within the given range, and each case corresponds to a different on/off strategy for the top and bottom equalizers respectively. The validity of proposed SoC(State of Charge) balancing method is verified by MATLAB/Simulink, the results show that this control strategy has a 0.483% higher energy transfer efficiency than the simultaneous balancing control strategy and that it reduces the time from the time-sharing control strategy by about 22.8%.
