Study on the Impact of IPSec on Rate Limiting Strategies in Satellite Communications
When ocean-going cargo ships sail for cargo transport, due to the limited bandwidth of satellite communications, it is impossible to meet all services' bandwidth demands without limit. Therefore, it is necessary to configure priority and throttling strategies for different services based on their priority levels, ensuring that when the sum of the rates of all services exceeds the total bandwidth, high-priority services can be allocated appropriate bandwidth, thereby guaranteeing the normal communication of critical business systems. Ocean-going cargo ships use IPSec on routers to encrypt and decrypt business traffic and employ QoS technology to set throttling and priority levels for various services. This paper studies the changes and impacts of general throttling strategies after passing through routers, thus providing reference for reasonably setting throttling strategies to ensure the normal operation of services.
