FCS-MPC Based Grid-Tied Self-Balanced Switched Capacitor Reduced Switch Nine Level Inverter

Switched-Capacitor Multi Level Inverter (SCMLI)s are becoming increasingly popular due to its application with low voltage input sources. This article suggests a new single dc source double boost MLI to overcome existing inverter limitations, such as their large number of elements. The suggested inverter uses Switched capacitor unit having self-balanced capabilities. This MLI charges capacitors stage by stage using a low voltage DC source, resulting in capacitor amplitudes that are several times the supply voltage. This asymmetrical capacitors produce a large magnitude of output voltage, reducing the need for many DC sources and semiconductors. This simplifies the structure. The suggested inverter employs single DC supply of low voltage, making it suitable for renewable energy applications. This converter may provide negative output voltage despite the high voltage H-bridge circuit, which reduces the quantity of devices. To validate the suggested MLI operation, a 9-level inverter model is emulated using Simulink environment of the MATLAB using Nearest Level Modulation (NLM). Also, the effectiveness of this topology is tested as a Grid Tied Inverter (GTI) with Finite Control Set Model Predictive Control (FCS-MPC) approach.
