Development and Design of a Service Robot System using Machine Vision

This paper aims to develop an advanced and intelligent home service robot utilizing machine vision technology, with a focus on optimizing both the chassis movement system and the gripping mechanism. The design incorporates an omni-wheel chassis for stable omnidirectional movement and a multi-degree-of-freedom robotic arm to enhance the gripping capabilities. A novel lightweight target detection method is introduced, significantly improving detection efficiency by leveraging spatial information for path guidance. Through advanced path planning technology and SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) algorithms, the robot ensures safe and efficient navigation within a home environment. Experimental results showcase exceptional performance in map construction, human silhouette recognition, and object identification, offering a cutting-edge technological solution for the advancement of home service robotics.
