Artificial Intelligence Techniques for Recognizing Pharmaceutical Significance of Schiff Bases and their Metal Complexes
New drugs have been synthesized from complexes of Schiff bases by using Copper, Nickel, Ruthenium and Manganese salts and screened for biological activities. Various analytical and IR spectral techniques, indicate metal-ligand bonding in the newly formed complexes. The Schiff base ligands exhibit bidentate symmetry. Focussing upon the antifungal and antibacterial activities, these properties are enhanced upon chelation. Pharmaceutical significance is of immense importance in the bio-inorganic chemistry. Various therapeutic uses of these drugs are anti-carcinogenic, antiviral, antidiabetic anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antitumour and antifungal properties. Magnetic moments, IR spectral studies, electronic arrangements and structure of the complexes is related to antimicrobial activity of biomolecules.
