Performance Analysis of Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) Communications using an Open-Source Simulator in 5G/Beyond 5G Systems
The third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) has been released to communication standards based on 5G-V2X that allows vehicles to communicate with road infrastructure, other vehicles, and pedestrians. Hence the configuration of mode 2 which is the mode used for direct communication between vehicles in 5GV2X for simulation is implemented in this article. The article introduces the background knowledge regarding the simulator WiLabV2Xsim and the parameters used in the experiment. First, three types of subcarrier spacing (SCS), and in-band emission (IBE) variants to indicate the performance of variants are. The second is to discuss the improved performance using candidate resource list 2 which is a candidate resource used by user equipment (UE) to avoid collisions during transmission without effecting performance and causing extra signal transmission (Overhead) phenomenon. To apply with the different packet sizes, modulation and coding scheme (MCS) are to observe their packet reception ratio (PRR). In the study, the performance of different SCSs, the trend of performance changes and the performance impact of list 2 were fully analyzed and revealed.
