Dynamic Decoupling Method Based PI Tuning for SPMSM motor
This paper explores the implementation of Field-Oriented Control (FOC) for a Surface Mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (SPMSM) and introduces a method for tuning the Proportional-Integral (PI) controller. By decoupling the dynamic terms within the system and feed-forwarding them as disturbances, we achieve precise management of the motor's performance. Specifically, we decouple the time-varying currents (d-axis and q-axis) to independently regulate the corresponding voltages, enabling desired modifications in flux and torque. This approach significantly enhances system stability and response time. The PI tuning method, which directly utilizes the mathematical model of the motor, proves superior to the traditional trial-and-error approach, offering more accurate and efficient control. Moreover, this PI tuning strategy is versatile and can be effectively applied to various applications, including electric vehicles (EVs) and industrial systems, where precise motor control is critical.
