Optimal Unit Commitment and Dispatch of Electric Vehicles in Microgrid Using Walrus Optimization Algorithm
The widespread assimilation of renewable power with electric vehicles demands efficient economic dispatch of the power grid. This write up presents a substantial electricity production planning and preparation in advance for coming week, and the procedure includes electric vehicles and accounts for uncertainties in loads and renewable energy sources. Solar, wind, and electric vehicle energies are quickly becoming viable renewable resources to meet power demands. Stemming from their sporadic behavior, these renewable sources are unified with conventional generating units. The advocated scheduling framework, trialed on a microgrid network with three generating units using the Walrus Optimization Algorithm (WOA), is designed as a multiple-objective optimization problem aimed at minimizing both generating and emission costs. The primary focus is to manage the plan for committing the energy resources despite their volatility, integrate electric vehicles with unpredictability associated with their charge status, and address random load performance over an entire week. The WOA technique has effectively reduced generation and emission costs by 16.98% and 5.06%, respectively.
