Design and Analysis of Rectangular Patch Antenna with Varied Slot Configurations for Ka Band Applications
The proposed antenna design is tailored for integration into 5G technology. As technology continues to revolutionize, 5G promises faster data speeds, increased capacity and lower latency when compared to 4G LTE i.e. Long Term Evolution networks. The suggested paper describes a single-band antenna operating at a central frequency of 39.1875GHz, offering a return loss of -46.6361dB. Using FR4_epoxy as a base material, featuring a dielectric constant of 3.8 and 4.4 as the relative permittivity, the antenna operates in the Ka band. Two rectangular slots are strategically placed to form a plus-like structure within a rectangular patch measuring 3.5x2.5x0.035mm3. The resulting structure provides a maximum peak gain of 2.7. The development of the antenna necessitated the utilization of High-Frequency Structural Simulator (HFSS) software. Additionally, various parameters of the completed structure are meticulously analyzed, including VSWR i.e. Voltage Standing Wave Ratio, reflection coefficients.
