Single-Band Optimized Rectangular Patch Antenna with Slots for V-Band Applications
This paper introduces an innovative microstrip antenna with a modified rectangular patch design for V-band applications. The antenna, built on a 0.0254 mm thick Rogers RT/Duroid 5880 substrate, utilizes a radiating rectangular monopole to achieve resonance at 47 GHz, operating effectively within a frequency range of 46.3 to 47.9 GHz. The antenna incorporates a combination of elliptical and circular patches, providing a return loss of -41.58 dB and good impedance matching with a resistance of 50.58 ohms. Designed using HFSS software, this compact and high-performance antenna is wellsuited for advanced wireless technologies and 5G applications. The paper evaluates various parameters, including voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR), gain, E-plane and H-plane radiation patterns, and reflection coefficients, demonstrating its efficiency and effectiveness.
