Imperative Observation of Security in Qubes Operating System and User Anonymity in Digital Epoch
User anonymity may be defined as engaging online in multiple activities without disclosing one's identity or characteristics. These interactions can be anything from visiting sites, engaging in conversations, and making purchases without having to provide personal information like your name, address, or phone number. In Qubes, through security by virtualization, none of the applications run on the same kernel thus keeping user anonymity. One of the unique features of Qubes OS as compared to all the other operating systems is privacy and anonymity. With Qubes you have compartmentalization where each application or task is basically run in its own qube (virtual machine). This ensures that the remaining Qubes are still safe and secure, even if one of them is compromised. Qubes also enables users to create disposable Qubes for more private actions like buying online or browsing anonymously. By using disposable qubes, users achieve an increased level of anonymity with a temporary and isolated space for more sensitive tasks. Qubes OS relies on Xen hypervisor to support hardware-level isolation among qubes, making it impossible to infect the host system. This is an additional level of protection that normal operating systems do not have.
