A Novel Variable Droop Control Technique for DC Microgrid
The rising popularity of DC microgrids is attributed to their superior efficiency, reliability, and ability to connect distributed generators(DGs), energy storage devices, and DC loads. Control strategies of a DC microgrid are categorized as local or coordinate control based on specific functions. The local control method primarily utilizes droop control and relies on local measurements to achieve control objectives. The main drawbacks of local control are serious grid voltage oscillation during grid overloading and uneven current sharing between multiple converter modules. To mitigate these problems a new controller scheme has been proposed. In this control methodology, adaptive droop topology ensures equal current sharing and minimum grid voltage oscillation during overload.
