DC Voltage Regulation of Battery/Supercapacitor Hybrid Energy Storage Systems in HEV
In comparison to traditional powertrains, hybrid electric vehicles achieve better fuel economy by utilizing energy generation and energy storage technologies. Advanced control strategies are required to govern the amount of energy to be produced and stored in real time in order to optimize this improvement. The issues with hybrid energy storage systems (HESS) for electric vehicles are covered in this research. This storage system is made up of a supercapacitor and battery. Supercapacitor serves as an auxiliary power source in addition to the battery as the primary power source. It has an energy conversion power block with a boost converter that is connected to the battery and a buck- boost converter that is connected to a supercapacitor. Every source is linked to the viva DC-DC converter DC bus. These converters use an inverter and the same DC bus link to power BLDC motors. Maintaining dc bus voltage control between the two converters and the motor is the main objective of this work. This paper was simulated using MATLAB, and the simulation's outcomes are shown. DC Voltage regulation performance is analyzed by the varying the speed of BLDC motor.
