Factors Influencing the Human Development Index (HDI) in Lampung Province: A Multiple Linear Regression Analysis

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the Human Development Index (HDI) in Lampung Province in 2023. Using multiple linear regression analysis, the study examines the effects of life expectancy, average length of schooling, and the number of poor individuals on the HDI. Secondary data were obtained from the Central Statistics Agency of Lampung Province. The results indicate that life expectancy and average length of schooling have a significant impact on the HDI, whereas the number of poor individuals does not exhibit a statistically significant effect. The regression model yields an R-squared value of 93.92%, suggesting that the independent variables effectively explain variations in the HDI. These findings underscore the need for government policies aimed at improving healthcare and education to enhance the HDI in Lampung Province.
