A rare, potentially fatal complication of fluoroless atrial fibrillation ablation
The number of patients undergoing atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation continues to increase in the United States and worldwide, and a growing percentage of those cases are performed without the use of fluoroscopy. Fluoroless ablation, while safe, comes with a steep learning curve, and as with any new technique, there are potential risks and pitfalls that must be recognized for patient safety. This case illustrates one such risk.
