Fuzzy Logic and Sliding Mode Control Based Controller Design for Solar Panel
This research paper is illustrating the design and implementation of SMC (Sliding Mode Control) and FLC (Fuzzy Logic Control), in MATLAB, for a Solar Tracking System. Its prime goal is to upgrade the accuracy and stability of the tracking system of a solar panel so that the energy absorption can be maximized by tracking the motion of sun precisely. SMC method is applied based on defined sliding surface taking minimization of chattering effect into consideration. The Fuzzy controller works by fuzzifying the two crisp inputs viz. tracking error and rate of tracking error using predefined Gaussian membership functions. To evaluate the tracking performance of the developed control system, some parameters like settling time, rise time, steady state error and overall tracking error are computed.
