From Practice to Perfection: AI-Driven Mock Interviews for Career Success

Mock interviews are very important during job interview preparation, however traditional techniques often times are not able to give a comprehensive assessment of both technical skills and soft skills. This publication showcases an AI Mock Interview Platform that has been designed to mimic actual interviews by not only considering users' technical skills but also soft ones such as confidence, emotional expression, and body language. The platform is powered by AI technologies which enable the user to provide dynamic technical questions during the interview which are specific to the job and offer instant feedback. It applies video sentiment analysis for emotional assessment, Convolutional Neural Networks based video face recognition of emotions using a FER database, and MediaPipe based human body position estimation. The platform enables the users to gain both the technical aspects and the communication skills by offering an integrated approach to interview preparation. The responses of the candidates are also assessed by the system that uses AI which also provides feedback with specific metrics that describe voice, movement, and eye focus of the candidates. The system allows its users to practice the interview skills in a simulated environment and in a skill-focused manner while enabling them to identify their strengths and weaknesses to prepare for real interviews as best as possible.
