OPTIMISASI TEKNOLOGI SENSOR PADA ALAT BANTU TUNANETRA BERBASIS ARDUINO UNO
Sensor-based technology is an innovative solution to improve the effectiveness of navigation aids for the visually impaired. This study focuses on optimizing the performance of the HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor and the Water Level sensor on an Arduino Uno-based assistive device for the visually impaired. The optimization efforts include sensor calibration to enhance detection accuracy, data processing algorithm optimization to reduce response time, and simulation under various environmental conditions to test the system's reliability. The test results indicate that recalibrating the HC-SR04 sensor improved obstacle detection accuracy by up to ±2 cm, while the Water Level sensor was able to detect water pooling more quickly, with an optimal threshold value of 750. Additionally, the optimization of the data processing algorithm reduced the response time by 15%, allowing the buzzer alert to function more promptly. With these improvements, the system becomes more adaptive to environmental variations, such as narrow spaces and temperature changes. Further optimization could be achieved by adding supporting sensors, such as light or GPS sensors, to enhance the functionality and safety of the user.
