Arduino Based Secured Access Control in Smart Homes by Implementing Anomaly Detection in Fingerprint - Based Door Lock and Realtime Monitoring with OpenCV

The development of smart home gadgets improves the security level in the house and at same time introduces some risks with these devices which are not aware before. This research improves the security of smart locks by detecting anomalies in fingerprint data with k-Nearest Neighbors and OpenCV for fingerprint matching, ultimately catching all but some faked entries. It was composed by Arduino controller and the LCD for visual purposes. If the fingerprint entered incorrectly for three times in quick succession, the machine would automatically be alerted by a loud beep sound and simultaneously it accepts the data which is matched to the database. A multi-layered approach using smart technologies, computer vision and advanced hardware ensures a quicker response to abnormalities, addressing the emerging security challenges in today's intelligent homes.
