Proposal of Cyber-Physical System for Real-Time Adaptive Airofoils in Vehicles

This paper proposes the integration of smart materials, particularly Macro Fiber Composite (MFC), within active aerodynamic systems in vehicles, as a crucial advancement in enhancing vehicle dynamics through cyber-physical systems (CPS). The research leverages advanced simulation tools and computer modeling techniques to design adaptive aerodynamic components capable of real-time adjustments to varying driving conditions. The study focuses on utilizing MFCs due to their superior flexibility and responsiveness, which are essential for developing morphing aerodynamic structures such as adaptive spoilers. Through the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), the study proposes optimizations for the design and functionality of these systems, suggesting their potential to simultaneously improve both vehicle comfort and handling. This interdisciplinary approach bridges the gap between mechatronics, aerodynamics, and material science, paving the way for next-generation vehicles that are smarter, more responsive, and more efficient.
