Results of implementation of the Grape Breeding Program by the AZESV&W – branch of FSBSI NCFSCHVW for 2023
Abstract. The results of research carried out in 2023 in accordance with the state assignment and the Grape Breeding Program are presented. The research was carried out in the Black Sea agroecological zone of viticulture on the basis of the Center for Collective Use Anapa ampelographic collection and hybrid grape nursery of AZESV&W – branch of FSBSI NCFSCHVW according to generally accepted programs and methods. The purpose of the research is to search, mobilize, preserve and study the genetic resources of grapes for the creation of new generation varieties with high potential of adaptability, productivity and manufacturability. As a result of the conducted research, the gene pool of grapes was preserved (the total number of varietal samples amounted to 4969) and replenished with 5 samples of different ecological and geographical origin: table direction – Artek, Kurazh, Senator Burdaka; technical – Vecherniy, Donus. Comprehensive evaluation of the gene pool of the ampelographic collection allowed to identify varieties-sources of economically valuable traits (Muromets, Vityaz, Kishmish 342, Zhemchug Anapy, Krasnostop AZOS), grape varieties for complex and ecological study in different zones (Madeleine Angevin, Super-Extra, Zarif). Database of phenological observations of table grape varieties of Anapa ampelographic collection was formed, which contains information on observations for the period from 2003 to 2023. In order to create new grape varieties and replenish the hybrid fund, 2 technical forms exceeding the standard varieties in terms of a complex of economically valuable and adaptively significant traits and properties were allocated to the elite: 59-39 (Krasnostop Anapskiy x F/U Dzhemete) and 62-23 (F/U Dzhemete x Krasnostop Anapskiy). Hybridization was performed and hybrid seedlings were grown. Keywords: gene pool, collection, grapes, variety
