Um olhar sobre os enunciados de problemas de divisão elaborados por alunos dos 5º e 9º anos

This article aims to discuss what is revealed in the elaboration of division problems by students in the 5th and 9th grade of Elementary School. This is a qualitative study based on the analysis of written production, through which the types of problems produced, the information needed for their resolution, as well as the mother tongue, symbolic and numerical languages mobilized were identified. As a result, it was observed that most students created partition problems using natural numbers. However, fractional and decimal numbers were also used. In some statements prepared by 9th grade students, concepts taught in Elementary School II, such as calculating the area of a triangle and factoring, were employed. There was no significant variation in the characteristics of the problem statements created by 5th and 9th grade students. The results can broaden understandings and reflections on the teaching and learning of division and contribute to future research.
