Evaluation of Nafion degradation process using clusteroluminescence

Abstract We have reported novel evaluation techniques for degradation process of Nafion membrane using clusteroluminescence. Degradation process of Nafion membrane with and without strain was traced using X-ray diffraction and photoluminescence measurements. During degradation, the side chain groups were decomposed and residue side chain starts to aggregate, leading to aggregation-induced emission caused by clusteroluminescence.
