TINGIR OU NÃO TINGIR? A “REVOLUÇÃO GRISALHA” SOB A ÓTICA DO DISCURSO
Contemporary Western society experiences the emergence of a social movement among women: assuming white hair, which became popularly known as the Gray Revolution (Araújo, 2019). This article investigates discursivities around this movement arising from its mediatization via Internet, through research on the hashtags #mulheresgrisalhas (#graywomen) and #revolucaogrisalha (#grayrevolution). The corpus is composed of 20 articles published online about the topic in question, written by women who identify with the Gray Revolution. Analysis is based on French Discourse Analysis’ theoretical construct, based on reflections of authors such as Foucault (1999, 2005, 2013), on bodies’ docilization and discourse order, and Courtine (2013), on the body as discursive materiality. Furthermore, we will base our identity understanding on Hall’s (2000, 2011) and Bauman’s (2001, 2005) conceptions.
