Struggling to be seen: the journey for support while living with alopecia
Alopecia areata can cause significant psychological and financial challenges, as outlined by a patient’s perspective. In Ireland, financial assistance for hair replacement products is available, but eligibility criteria exclude many groups, such as children with non-chemotherapy-induced alopecia. Expanding the scope of support could better address the needs of these individuals and align Ireland’s policies with more inclusive approaches seen in other countries.
