Improving the Performance of Pipeline Petrol-Transportation Using Fuzzy Logic Control Based PID Tuning
Petroleum is a substance that occurs naturally, is extracted from the ground, and then transported for long distances may be land or sea. This process faces many problems and one of the main problems that it faces is maintaining constant pressure and flow along the transport process without the presence of vibrations that work to disperse the amount of petrol. This paper proposes a method for the efficient operation of the First Order Plus Time Delay (FOPTD) model of petrol transportation using a self-tuning Fuzzy Logic (FL) based Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) control scheme through simulation analysis. The FL-PID scheme is simulated and compared to provide good performance in the controller. The results clearly show that, in comparison to existing controller systems, the proposed approach exhibits significantly less vibration during transportation and demonstrates a steady response under varying flow rate conditions. Following the occurrence of flow stability, the Takagi-Sugeno FL-PID implementation offers constant performance and reacts to control stability without disturbance.
