Analysis of Superior Performance on Warships Based on Sociotechnical Aspects

The study of the interaction between humans and technology on warships needs to be carried out by paying attention to several aspects, including ergonomic design, crew needs, psychological and social aspects. Changes in the complexity of technology on modern warships to face challenges are growing very rapidly, including advanced weaponry, navigation systems, communications and other technologies, so the sociotechnical aspect becomes important because it involves humans in its operation. The purpose of the study has been to conduct a comparative analysis of superior performance on warships in general with world-class modern warships seen from sociotechnical aspects. The study has used a quantitative approach and the data have been analyzed by using t-student test and correlation test. From the analysis of the superior performance variables of warships, significant results have been obtained on all variables. The superior performance of the adapting speed of the warship crew in general compared to the superior performance of the adapting speed of modern world-class battleship crews is real different. The superior performance of the high performance of the battleship crew in general compared to the superior performance of the high performance of modern world-class warship crews is real different, and the superior performance, the high commitment of warship crews in general, compared to the superior performance, the high commitment of modern world-class warship crews is significantly different. When viewed from the comparison of correlations between variables, it can be said that the correlation between superior performance of crew adapting speed and superior performance of high commitment has the highest correlation value compared to relationships with other variables. From the correlation test, it has been also obtained that the comparison of the strength of the correlation between variables has been relatively balanced in magnitude, ranging from a value of 30% for each variable. The superior performance of warship crews and the superior performance of modern world-class battleship crews are clearly different and there is a relationship between the two. Based on sociotechnical aspects, modern warships are world-class compared to warships in general or conventional, they have differences in several important aspects that will affect superior performance in carrying out missions and improve operational effectiveness, including technology and weapons systems, navigation and communication systems, human and machine interaction, and personnel development.
