Analysis of SCB-DB Algorithm for Various Characteristic Parameters
Introduction: The performance of a standard Capon beamformer for dual beams (SCBDB) is analyzed against simultaneous variations in the direction and power of interference. The performance metrics of SCB-DB are SLL, maximum SLL, 3-dB beamwidth and beamwidth between first minimas. Method: In SCB-DB, the standard SCB utilizes an extra constraint to ensure that unity gain is preserved for the second desired signal. The SLL management, along with dual beams (SCB − DBSLL), involves the sampling of angles within the sidelobe area, and the powers associated with these sampled angles are restricted to a predetermined level. Results: The SCB − DBSLL configuration demonstrated notable enhancements, achieving approximately a 63% reduction in side lobe levels for both beams, decreasing from -8 dB to -21.846 dB. Conclusion: Additionally, maximum SLL improved by 64% lowering from -5.48 dB to -9 dB.
