Modeling and simulation of multi-pulse echo for an airborne altimeter radar

In order to solve the complicated modeling problem of spin motion of a given sort of aircraft, a new spin motion model is built in this paper. The variation rule of radar irradiation area is obtained based on this model. Then, this paper establishes the radar echo model by using grid division method to divide the illuminated area. The multi-pulse echo is simulated based on the model. After analysis, it is concluded that radar multi-pulse echo will be modulated by Doppler frequency and show multiple periods.

Abstract

In order to solve the complicated modeling problem of spin motion of a given sort of aircraft, a new spin motion model is built in this paper. The variation rule of radar irradiation area is obtained based on this model. Then, this paper establishes the radar echo model by using grid division method to divide the illuminated area. The multi-pulse echo is simulated based on the model. After analysis, it is concluded that radar multi-pulse echo will be modulated by Doppler frequency and show multiple periods.
