Experimental researches on temperature measurement of inclinometer based on mixed level uniform design
To minimize the impact of temperature variations on inclinometers, temperature modeling methods are typically used to compensate for its output. However, using orthogonal or full factorial design experiments involves a large number of trials and can be time-consuming. This paper analyzes the environmental characteristics affecting inclinometer measurements and identifies temperature as the main factor limiting the accuracy. Based on the fundamental principles and characteristics of the uniform design method, a mixed-level uniform design is applied to the inclinometer’s temperature modeling experiment. A uniform design table was constructed for the required temperature modeling experiments, and the optimal experimental plan was determined accordingly. The results indicate that, compared to full factorial design experiments, using the mixed-level uniform design for inclinometer temperature compensation reduces the experiment time to 1/9 of the original. Furthermore, it effectively reduces the number of trials compared to orthogonal design, thus lowering costs.
