Three Dimesional Ray-Tracing Propagation Model of the Fifth Generation Network at Universitas Sumatera Utara

The objective of this study is to plan a three dimentional (3D) ray-tracing propagation model using Shooting and Bouncing Ray (SBR) method for three conditions, which are line of sight (LOS), reflection, and diffraction. Each situation will be evaluated using three different circumstances of receiving antennas. For the first receiving antenna, potential number of signals received is 123 signals, comprising of 16 signals in the excellent category, 15 signals in good category, 78 signals in normal category, and 14 signals in poor category. Furthermore, the SINR value is 39,58 dB, which classified as excellent. On the second receiving antenna, the potential signal detected is 279 signals, 19 excellent signals, 20 good signals, 124 normal signals, and 116 poor signals. Furthermore, the SINR value is 45,53 dB, which also indicating as excellent. In case of the third receiving antenna, 15 signals are received. The performance of signals are 2 signals in excellent category, 4 signals in good category, 8 signals in normal category, and 1 signal in poor category. Furthermore, the SINR value is 30,62 dB, which also indicating as excellent category.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to plan a three dimentional (3D) ray-tracing propagation model using Shooting and Bouncing Ray (SBR) method for three conditions, which are line of sight (LOS), reflection, and diffraction. Each situation will be evaluated using three different circumstances of receiving antennas.
