Optimization of Acceleration Sensor Layout for Transmission Towers Based on the Dung Beetle Optimizer (DBO) Algorithm
In this study, we investigate the structural response and condition monitoring of power transmission towers under landslide conditions. Focusing on a 110kV transmission tower in the rainfall-prone regions of southern China, we utilized ANSYS finite element analysis software to simulate the tower’s structural behavior and the impact of landslide-induced foundation displacement. A three-dimensional model of a double-circuit corner tower was developed, and optimization algorithms, including the Dung Beetle Optimizer (DBO) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), were applied to determine the optimal sensor layout. Results indicate that the DBO algorithm outperforms the PSO algorithm when using 4 to 6 sensors. With 8 sensors, both algorithms achieve stable and efficient monitoring performance. This study provides a reference for landslide disaster prevention and safety assessment of power transmission towers, recommending an optimized layout with 8 sensors to ensure cost-effectiveness and monitoring accuracy.
