Expansion of ship-radiated noise sample library based on marine three-dimensional sound field
Ship radiated noise samples are crucial for accurate classification and identification of underwater passive sonar targets. A method that utilizes three-dimensional ocean acoustic field calculations is proposed to expand the ship radiated noise sample library. Based on the characteristics of ship radiated noise, simulations of ship radiated noise under different operating conditions were achieved through continuous spectrum and line spectrum components. By establishing a gridded underwater acoustic environment for the ocean and setting parameters for sound source and receiver positions, and using simulated ship radiated noise at sea as the sound source, the expansion of the array element domain received signal, namely ship radiated noise, was achieved based on three-dimensional ocean acoustic field computations. The comparison of power spectrum analysis of expanded samples under different ocean backgrounds and situations shows that although the impact of ocean sound propagation on ship radiated noise is extremely complex, the expanded samples can reflect the main characteristics of the original samples and can be used as samples for ship radiated noise classification and recognition.
