Optimization of Lighting System Efficiency with Retrofit and Delamping Methods Using DIALux Software (Case Study: Departement of Electrical Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara)
Using electrical energy in lighting systems in public and private facilities is extensive. Given that the available energy supply is minimal, it is necessary to save energy; one way to reduce the energy used is to utilize lighting efficiently and optimally. By optimizing the lighting system, energy savings will be achieved so that the energy supply is maintained, and the cost of energy use will also be more efficient with good lighting quality. This research optimizes the lighting system using the Retrofit and Delamping methods and DIALux software in the Electrical Engineering Department building at the University of North Sumatra. The process involves data collection, lighting system design, simulation before and after optimization, and comparison of results to determine whether the lighting system is optimal in terms of energy use and lighting quality. The results obtained after optimization showed a decrease in the use of electrical energy from the previous condition of 10279.8 W to 5193 W or an efficiency of 53.8%. After optimization, 95% of the room has met the lighting system standards of SNI 03-6575-2001.
