A Rail Wear Measurement System Based on Line Structured Light and Binocular Camera Structure
With the rapid development of high-speed and heavy-duty railways, ensuring track health is crucial for the safety and efficiency of trains. Traditional methods for measuring rail wear, such as manual measurement and simple mechanical devices, are difficult to meet the high precision and efficiency requirements of modern railways. This article proposes a new type of rail wear measurement system, which is based on line laser and binocular cameras. The binocular camera system is used for multi viewpoint synchronous measurement, effectively overcoming the problem of incomplete information collection from a single viewpoint in complex environments. The experimental results show that the system has small fluctuations in repeated measurements, with a measurement accuracy of 0.02 millimeters and a standard deviation between 0.01 and 0.03 millimeters, significantly improving the stability and reliability of the measurement.
