Study on the influence of operating parameters on the formation of methane hydrate in rotating packed bed

The use of methane hydrate for offshore oilfield associated gas recovery is a very promising way of energy conservation and emission reduction, which is conducive to alleviating global warming. Rotating packed bed is a new device for recovering associated gas in offshore oilfields due to its unique advantages such as fast heat and mass transfer rate and light weight. In this paper, the effects of kinetic promotor sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate (SDBS), thermodynamic accelerator tetrahydrofuran (THF), pressure and high gravity factor on the formation of methane hydrate in rotating packed bed were investigated. The results show that SDBS, THF and pressure all promote the formation of methane hydrate, while the gravity factors can either promote or inhibit hydrate formation. The research results of this paper are helpful to open up a new method of associated gas in offshore oil fields, and lay a foundation for the application of methane hydrate generated by rotating packed bed to recover associated gas in oil fields.
