Liberalism Caused the Great Enrichment

I propose here, mathematically and quantitatively, by historical comparison and by the paradoxical logic of creativity, to offer a fresh and ideational explanation of how economic growth started and was sustained. The crux, I claim, was liberalisation at the level of ideas, favouring a culture of free speech and an economy of enterprise.

Abstract

I propose here, mathematically and quantitatively, by historical comparison and by the paradoxical logic of creativity, to offer a fresh and ideational explanation of how economic growth started and was sustained. The crux, I claim, was liberalisation at the level of ideas, favouring a culture of free speech and an economy of enterprise.
