USO DE PRANCHAS DE COMUNICAÇÃO ALTERNATIVA DE BAIXA TECNOLOGIA NO ENSINO DE AUTOCUIDADO PARA CRIANÇAS AUTISTAS NÃO VERBAIS
This paper aims to investigate the effectiveness of low-tech alternative communication boards (ACC) in teaching self-care skills to nonverbal children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The research highlights the importance of creating an inclusive school environment and the teacher's role in implementing effective pedagogical practices. Assistive Technology is presented as a set of tools that support the communication of children with ASD, with low-tech AAC serving as a practical and accessible alternative. The methodology employed was a literature review covering the period from 2019 to 2023, focusing on studies that explore the application of these boards in the school environment. The results suggest that the use of low-tech AAC significantly contributes to the development of autonomy in these children, alleviates anxiety associated with communication difficulties, and promotes more effective learning.
