İzmit Körfezi Kıyı Değişiminin Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemi ve Uzaktan Algılama Teknolojileri ile Zamansal ve Mekansal Analizi
The coastline is the meeting line between the sea and the land next to the tidal high point and is one of the most important landforms of the earth, as well as an important feature that can change over time. In addition to geological effects such as sediment deposition of seas and rivers, interaction, different ocean and weather conditions, anthropogenic effects also form the coastline. As an intermediate line between land and water, the coastline, together with the coastal zone, is seen as one of the very complex, dynamic and at the same time unstable geomorphic components in the coastal environment, which is influenced by marine and terrestrial forces and changes coastal landforms. In this study, the shoreline change of Izmit Bay was analyzed temporally and spatially by using Landsat-5 and Sentinel-2A satellite images between 2006- 2023 with geographic information system (GIS) and remote sensing methods. Shorelines were produced by image classification of NDWI image, which is an effective method in the detection of water bodies. Then, coastal change analysis of Izmit Bay was performed by using SCE, NSM, EPR, LRR, WLR shoreline change statistics from the produced coastlines.
