A UNIQUE ROMAN JAR FROM AN UNKNOWN CONTEXT
The present article offers an analysis of a seemingly typical Roman jar, if we consider the manufacturing technique, fabric and its typology. However, the vessel was decorated with motifs which are rather specific to Late Iron Age (Dacian) pottery traditions. Although the context of discovery is unknown, it can be presumed with a level of certainty. Despite this, the mix of Roman technology and possible Dacian decorative elements make this jar particularly important.
