Cataract surgery in patients with shallow anterior chamber syndrome after sinustrabeculectomy complicated by choroidal detachment
The shallow anterior chamber syndrome combines conditions that differ in pathogenesis, is accompanied by the formation of anterior and posterior synechiae, the progression of cataracts, dystrophic corneal changes, and secondary glaucoma. In some cases, cataract removal is required against the background of hypotension, a shallow anterior chamber and reduced visualization due to corneal edema. The purpose of the work was to evaluate the effectiveness of cataract surgery in patients with small anterior chamber syndrome after trabeculectomy complicated by vascular detachment using clinical examples. The indication for surgical treatment of cataract was its progression against the background of hypotension, grinding of the anterior chamber and dystrophic changes of the cornea. It has been shown that even in the case of successful surgery and a smooth early postoperative period, the further course of the process can be different: from recurrence of vascular detachment to the need to return to antihypertensive therapy. Further study of this issue is necessary. Keywords: complicated cataract, hypotension after sinustrabeculectomy, shallow anterior chamber syndrome
