Studying the effectiveness of different femtolasers in age-related cataract surgery
Material and methods. The study was conducted of various aspects about the using of two FSL systems – LenSx (Alcon) and FEMTO LDV Z8 (Zimmer) in treatment of 100 patients (100 eyes) with immature ARC, including 35 men and 65 women aged from 61 to 76 (on average – 67.7 ± 5.2) years. Eight surgical and five non-surgical criteria of laser operation were studied. Results. The analysis showed that 4 out of 5 non-surgical criteria and 3 out of 8 surgical criteria indicated a favorable advantage of using FEMTO LDV Z8 in ARC surgery. Conclusions. 1. With most comparable surgical criteria for using of FSL in ARC surgery, the negative factor in the operation of LenSx is the high frequency of induced miosis. 2. The advantages of FEMTO LDV Z8 include its mobility, interface design features, and optimal patient logistics in the operating room. Keywords: femtolaser, phacoemulsification, cataract
