Performance of Indoor Gain Ratio Power Allocation on VLC-NOMA Using Pulse Position Modulation

Visible Light Communication (VLC) uses visible light for data transmission, but faces challenges such as limited bandwidth with multiple users and interference from objects. To overcome this, Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) with Gain Ratio Power Allocation (GRPA) and Pulse Position Modulation (PPM) is used. This study examines variations in the number of users and distance using Line of Sight (LOS) and Non-Line of Sight (NLOS) channels. system performance using Signal to Interference plus Noise Ratio (SINR), channel capacity, and Bit Error Rate (BER) parameters. This research shows superior SINR under LOS conditions, with the best NLOS performance when 80% of the light reaches the user. The 2-user scenario resulted in higher SINR (33.12 dB for LOS and 31.182 dB for NLOS) than the 4-user scenario. In addition, increasing the PPM modulation level improves the BER, which indicates better quality.
