Remote Monitoring of Live EEG of Epileptic Patients on New Radio (5G) Networks
Delays in diagnosing neurological disorders can seriously affect a patient’s vitals in a critical care setting. Brain electrical activity (EEG) recordings are frequently used for neurological condition monitoring and diagnosis. EEG signal analysis requires a neurologist. Nevertheless, this knowledge is frequently unavailable on-site. When offsite expert analysis is needed, a new radio (5G) based monitoring system for EEG data is presented, which can minimize delays. The system makes it possible to view EEG data while it is being acquired in real time by streaming it to a remote location. An ever-updating view of the complete EEG recording can be obtained by reviewing previously streamed data. New Radio (5G) technology is used for all communications. The only device needed to view EEG data is a 5G smartphone with the installed plugin.
